A warm welcome to Langham Primary School.
If you don't know us very well yet, we are a small primary school with big ambitions. We value every child who comes to our school and are determined to unlock their potential and enable them to discover their talents. Please take a look around and find out more about us.
Langham Primary is a village school on the outskirts of Colchester. As well as serving local families, a significant proportion of our children make the short journey from the north east outskirts of the town. Our proximity to Colchester gives us the best of both worlds; a 'small village school' feel with many people commenting on a 'family atmosphere', as well as the wider perspective provided by serving families on the edge of town.
Our ambition for children who come to our school extends beyond making sure they achieve well in the National Curriculum. We recognise the crucial importance of these first seven years of education and want to make sure pupils have rich and varied experiences that secure a great foundation for their future.
Thank you for visiting.
Andrew MacDonald (Headteacher)
Our school logo represents the Discovery apple variety which was first propagated here in the village in the 1950s. We still have Discovery apples growing on site and we use the name to summarise our aims.
We are respectful
This is about having good manners and treating everybody with respect. We try and understand each other. We are a diverse community and are proud to be part of it. Respect is something we all deserve.
We are team players
Being a team player is important to us. We can do amazing things when we work together.
We know it gets tough sometimes. We encourage each other to persevere and are determined to do our very best.
We are courageous
Sometimes we have to be brave. It is important to stand up for what you believe and be heard. It is important to try new things and face your fears.
We are kind
Small acts of kindness make our school a great place to be. Big acts of kindness can change the world and improve lives for everyone.

We had a very successful inspection on 20th March 2018. Our inspector recognised the 'positive culture' of our school where 'every child at the school matters'. 'Excellent teaching in all classes' means that 'lessons are often inspiring and engaging'. You can download a copy of the letter in full by following the link below.
