The whole school has now completed their 'Take One Picture' project and all artwork has now been submitted to the National Gallery. All the class projects are on display in the school's gallery. Please come and take a look at all our hard work!
The whole school took part in an assembly to introduce the Take One Picture competition. This year, we are looking at the picture 'Men of the Docks' by George Bellows. Class 3 went back to class after the assembly to mind map ideas linked to the picture before creating an initial response.
On the 3rd April, we had a music assembly to celebrate all the hard work and practice children (and staff) have been putting in at home in order to play an instrument. We had piano, violin, clarinet and singing performances. Everyone was very nervous to begin with, but the audience soon put them at ease. After the assembly everyone was very proud of their performance!
Class 3 had 10 weeks of Ukulele lessons with the fantastic Mr Abbott. They performed all the songs they had learnt to the rest of the school and parents in Merit Assembly. Everyone was very proud of Class 3.
Working in partnership with the Pimlott Foundation, children in Years 3 and 4 were lucky enough to listen to a professional cellist play various styles of music. They were encouraged to respond to the mood and tempo of what they heard in drawing and painting. Class 4 visited Hornstreet field and enjoyed the snow whilst collecting resources for their cyanotpyes!
On Fridays, some children go out to learn how to play in their Rocksteady band. At the end of each term, all the bands perform to the rest of the school and the parents.
Class 1 and Class 2 worked together to rehearse and perform a nativity. The rest of the school watched the dress rehearsal before the parents came in to watch.
